Getting To Know Us

Bioven a “Hybrid Biotech” was founded in Malaysia in 2002; and by 2008 had started to make serious inroads into the field of cancer vaccines. Its lead project EGF (epidermal growth factor) vaccine has been developed to target non-small-cell lung tumours; a novel cancer immunotherapy that could bring about a step change in the treatment of lung and other cancers. A substantial body of clinical data, including a large scale late stage study indicates that the EGF vaccine licensed by Bioven substantially increases patient survival in a significant subset of patients when introduced alongside the best current standard of care.

With its headquarters in Malaysia and a secondary base in the UK, Bioven, a fully funded private equity backed company, has consolidate on taking the projects to an ad advance sign of developement to position itself to offer large pharma corporate a “Late Stage Development Package” suitable for marketing on a regional and global basis.

Bioven is singularly driven in bringing its projects to late Phase 3 development, partnering with large pharma having substantially “de-risked” their project and thereafter handing over the marketing to its partners.

This strategy has seen the successful approval for the EGF lung cancer trial. A phase 3 multi-center 9 country trial sanctioned by the UK MHRA and due to commence in Q3 2011.
